The Mother of Thousands plant earned its common name because of its ability to produce thousands of small plantlets along its leaves that shed frequently and take root wherever they land.

The plant is widely grown as a houseplant due to its undemanding nature. It is hardy, drought-tolerant, and can even tolerate full sun and very hot temperatures, once established.

Although this Kalanchoe is widely grown as a houseplant, you need to be very careful while growing it, especially if you have children or pets in the house. The plant is known to be poisonous to humans, household pets, birds, and livestock.

Care Guide:

Mother of Thousands enjoys a well-draining potting mix and bright indirect light, but if you want to enhance its appearance, consider putting it outdoors in direct sunlight, but do this gradually to avoid the leaves from browning and getting sunburned.

Generally, this plant is very resistant to drought which makes the plant easy to care for. A diluted balanced liquid fertilizer is the best choice to feed this plant.

Kalanchoe daigremontiana plants do not require lots of grooming. If you notice the plant losing lower leaves, it may be a sign of neglect. Moving the plant to a sunny spot and watering it regularly will help bring back its luster.

This plant is quite resistant to pests and diseases. It is not uncommon for aphids to appear though. These small, sap-sucking aphid insects can be taken care of by washing them away.
